California Attorney General Candidate says Marijuana Needs to Be Legalized
This fall, Republican candidate Ron Gold will face off against California’s incumbent Attorney General (and a Democrat) Kamala Harris. While Harris has been tight-lipped and hesitant to endorse marijuana reform, Gold just issued his clearcut support for full-on, recreational cannabis legalization.
Gold, clearly (and wisely) utilizing pot as his campaign’s pulpit pulpit, recently sat down with KCRA 3, who asked the GOP Candidate for Attorney General how he feels about the future of marijuana in California. Gold’s reply was blunt–and accurate:
“My position is it needs to be legalized.” Legalize/tax like Colorado and Washington”
In response to Gold’s coming out party, Harris offered a terse response, and did not issue support or opposition to marijuana reform.
“He’s entitled to his opinion.”
If California voters want to increase the state’s 2016 legalization chances, the choice is clear: pure Gold.
